The Zoning Board of Appeals is the judicial branch of the Township
in regard to Zoning. This Board hears and rules on zoning variance requests
for either area or use variances. The Board can hear and rule on an appeal
of an alleged error by the Zoning Inspector.
The Board also grants conditional zoning certificates for the use of land.
Members serve a five (5) year term with a new seat opening each year.
If you would like to serve on a Zoning Board - Applications
are taken in the month of November. Send a letter and/or a resume to the
Trustees expressing your interest. Interviews occur in December and appointments
are generally made at one of the first organizational board meetings in
January.

Brian Stewart
Chairman
Mr. Stewart was re-appointed to the Zoning Board of Appeals
and elected Chairman in January 2005. He is serving a 5 year term
that expires in December of 2009. Brian and his wife Michelle
and daughters Larrin & Lindsey have live in Auburn since 1996.
Mr. Steward is a 1979 graduate of Kenston High School.

Professionally, Brian is a Project Consultant with R.V. Buric Construction
Management Consultants, Inc. and he brings with him over 26 years experience
in the construction industry. He enjoys working with the other board members
while giving something back to the Auburn Community. His objective is
to offer a fair interpretation and application of the Zoning Resolution,
which in turn will help maintain the rural atmosphere of Auburn Township.

Lewis
Tomsic
Vice Chairman
A graduate of Euclid High School, Lewis Tomsic
served in the United States Air Force from 1965 through 1969.
He moved to Auburn Township in 1973. He and his wife, Deborah
Graehling Tomsic, have four children. Three of their children
live in Geauga County and one resides in Chicago. Lewis is the
CEO of Auburn Bainbridge Excavating Inc. and Advanced Aeration,
both companies based in Newbury, Ohio.

| Kevin G.
Graham
Kevin has lived in Auburn Township for five
years with his wife, Laura, and three children who attend Kenston
Schools. He is a Sales Manager for Lesco, Inc. for the past 17 years.
Kevin graduated from Kent State university with a degree in Marketing.
He looks forward to serving on the Board of Zoning Appeals to help
preserve the rural flair that Auburn has to offer while enforcing
regulations the Township needs to meet the requirements of our growing
community. He is a member of the Church of Holy Angels. |

| John B. (Jack) Trethewey
Mr. Trethewey moved to Auburn Township in 1940 and is a
graduate of Auburn High School. After 24-years of service, he retired
from the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer.
Jack is retired as National Service Manager for Lubrication
Systems Companies and has sat on the Zoning Board of Appeals for
10 years. |

Brian Scott Brockman
As a life long resident of the Chagrin Falls area and a graduate of Chagrin
Falls High School Scott moved to Auburn in 2004. He received his degree
from John Carroll University and took an early liking to politics and
government. Scott sat on boards such as the Tanglewood Lake Association
where they pursued aggressive agendas.

In 1999 Scott founded Brockman Builders Inc., a general contracting firm
specializing in residential construction. Scott enjoys the quiet rural
lifestyle and plans to stay in Auburn with his wife and kids.

Robert V. Freebairn
Alternate #1
Robert has been a Geauga County resident and business owner for
more than 35 years. He is a native of Philadelphia, PA and a graduate
of Penn State College of Education. Mr. Feebairn is a member of
Leadership Geauga County, class of 1997 and has served on the Board
of the Ravenwood Mental Health Center. Robert is married, has three
children and six grandchildren. |

Ron Zeligson
Alternate #2
Ron has lived in Auburn Township with his two children since 1999. He is a graduate of the Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Ron is project manager and superintendent for Premier Custom Builders, a local home building company.
