The members on the Board of Trustees are elected by voters to 4 year terms. The Board of Trustees meet every Monday at the administration building at 7:30 PM from January to March. April through December meetings are held on the first and third Mondays at 7:30 PM. The responsibilities of the Trustees are dictated by the Ohio Revised Code. The Trustees are not a law making body. They are responsible to oversee township operations as dictated by the Ohio Revised Code.


Michael Troyan
Chairman

Mr. Troyan has beem a member of the Auburn Township Board of Zoning Appeals for 8 years. He also has Zoning Board of Appeals experience in the community where he previously lived.

Mr. Troyan has a law degree and his upper level writing paper was on zoning. He has lived in Auburn since 1991 with his wife and four children.


Patrick J. Cavanagh
Vice Chairman

Mr. Cavanagh is a lifelong, fourth generation Auburn resident who graduated from Kenston High School and attended Kent State University. He is married and has three sons. P.J. served a four-year term on the Zoning Commission beginning 1991 and followed that with a four-year term as Trustee. P.J. was Vice Chairman of the Farmland Preservation Task Force in 1999.

Mr. Cavanagh resides on and operates a 270-acre dairy farm. P.J.'s commitment and interest in government is understandable when one finds out that his grandfather was an Auburn Trustee for 12 years and was the originator of Zoning in Auburn, serving as the Zoning Board's first Chairman.


John Eberly

John Eberly began his second term as trustee in January of 2002. He previously served as trustee from 1992 to 1996. John and his wife Karen moved to Auburn in 1974. They have three children, Zach, a graduate of BGSU, Meaghan who attends Xavier University in Ohio and Jessica, a Kenston High School honor student. John is President of Protectoplas Company, a manufacturer of plastic chemical storage tanks and tank liners.

John was an active participant in Auburn Scouting. He is proud of the many Eagle Scout projects in Auburn, including son Zach's, which is the sign at the Auburn Volunteer Fire Department.
